Robotics Team – First Lego League Robotics

Grades 4-6 Wednesdays 4:30 – 6:00 pm

Grades 6-8 Wednesdays 6:15 – 7:45 pm

Join us in the FIRST Lego League Competition!  Students will hone their robotics skills in the largest national robotics competition.  Our program has made multiple NYC finals in recent years, and is now expanding to Greenwich!  Students will design and program Lego robots in either the Scratch or Python programming languages, no prior experience needed.  Click here for more information about this year’s Submerged Challenge.  This STEM class will run 2 full semesters during the 2024-2025 school year.  When the FIRST competition concludes, the class will transition to various STEM topics including Python coding, coding with the Arduino microcontroller, and 3D printing.

This class will require at least one full Saturday for a qualifying match.  In the event that the team advances beyond the qualifier, further Saturdays will be scheduled.  The competition also involves a detailed science project on the underwater theme outside of the robot game, so it is not too early to start brainstorming ideas!
