Coding I – Grades 5-6

Mondays 5:40 – 7:00

Welcome to the wonderful world of algorithms and machine logic.  Our coding class will emphasize mathematical coding projects such as experimental probability distributions, prime number sieves, and sorting algorithms.  We will also study the user interfaces that keep computer science at the forefront of our daily lives, learning how to detect and respond to user inputs.  Languages used will include Scratch, Python, and Java, with additional projects in Arduino C.  Projects will include programming Arduino robots to make autonomous decisions.  Our class will emphasize a multi-lingual, cross-platform view of computer science.  No prior coding experience is needed.  Join us, and help push humanity closer to the singularity!
